This policy explains what personal information andrehaughton.com collects, why, and how it is handled. The site is operated by Professor Andre Haughton, Kingston, Jamaica. Questions about this policy can be sent to andre@andrehaughton.com.
What we collect and why
Newsletter sign-ups. When you subscribe to new articles, we collect your email address and, if you provide them, your first name and the audience category you select, together with the page you signed up from and the date. This is used only to send you new articles and related updates. You can unsubscribe at any time by emailing andre@andrehaughton.com.
Enquiries. When you use the enquiry form to request a consultancy, keynote, partnership or other engagement, we collect your name, email address, organization (optional), the topic and your message. This is used only to respond to your enquiry and, where relevant, to arrange the engagement. A copy of each enquiry is kept on the site so that no request is lost.
Technical data. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running. Our security software also records IP addresses of failed log-in attempts to protect the site.
Cookies and similar technologies
The site uses a small number of cookies and browser storage items that are necessary for it to work, including one that remembers your cookie consent choice and one that stops the newsletter prompt from reappearing after you close it. You can manage your consent using the cookie icon on each page. We do not use advertising cookies.
Third-party services
Some features rely on other providers, which handle your information under their own privacy policies:
- Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
- Paid coaching sessions for The Money Dr. are booked through Cal.com and paid through Stripe; those services process your booking and payment details.
- The Money Dr. check-up at money.andrehaughton.com is a separate application that collects anonymous responses for research; it does not ask for your name.
- Links to social media, publishers and newspapers take you to sites we do not control.
How your information is shared
We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. It is shared only with the service providers needed to run the site and send email, or where required by law.
How long we keep it
Newsletter details are kept until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete them. Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to respond and to maintain a record of engagements, and are then deleted.
Your rights
You may ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted, in line with the Jamaica Data Protection Act, 2020 and other applicable law. To make a request, email andre@andrehaughton.com.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted on this page with a new effective date.
